An in-concert programme presented by Linda MacLeod. The Chieftains celebrate the birth and evolution of the Irish nation onstage at Celtic Connections. The band needs no introduction, having been at the forefront of traditional music for over fifty years. Marking the anniversary of the Easter Rising in 1916, the band celebrate a century of Irish music with probably the biggest names in Irish music and some esteemed musical guests.

For this special concert, the Chieftains are joined by some renowned friends including Kris Kristofferson - a giant of country music and one of the most influential musicians around. There are familiar faces too: the acclaimed Karan Casey and Declan O'Rourke, alongside Scotland's Eddi Reader and John Sheahan of the Dubliners. Show less
