The Apprentice

Series 11

Episode 1: Fish Food

Duration: 1 hour

First broadcast: on BBC One Northern IrelandLatest broadcast: on BBC Two HD

The search for Lord Sugar's next business partner has begun, and the process is tougher than ever. Having already invested £1,000,000 of his own money into four thriving businesses, Lord Sugar isn't stopping there. Over the next 12 weeks he'll whittle down the hopeful candidates until only one remains.

Ready to fight for his funding, the aspiring entrepreneurs are summoned to his boardroom where Lord Sugar reveals his first surprise - a new aid. His right-hand man this year will be the fearsome businessman Claude Littner.

Determined to make this the toughest Apprentice process yet, Lord Sugar makes the candidates aware they've a lot to live up to. Under the watchful eye of Claude and Baroness Karren Brady, the candidates are sent off on their first task, rising early to buy fish at Billingsgate Fish Market. The aim - to turn it into two products they can sell on to hungry Londoners.

Chaos in the kitchen throws one team into disarray, whilst the other has a calamari crisis. Trying to maximise sales, each team pounds the pavements. One team targets affluent city workers whilst the other takes on tourists in Camden - and one candidate has such a unique selling style that even a surprised Baroness Brady has to admit she's learnt something new.

In the boardroom, the candidates are left in no doubt as to just how unforgiving the process is, and someone is the first to hear the words 'You're Fired!'. Show less
