Chris Packham relives programmes from The Living World archives.

In this programme recorded in 2003, Lionel Kelleway is joined by Michael Woods in a Somerset woodland. On a warm late summer day Lionel and Michael head off in search for one of Britain's most secretive mammals, made famous by Lewis Carrol. To do this they check artificial tubes in the hope of finding a dormouse as they fatten up in preparation for a seven month sleep. As Lionel discovers, for such a small mammal who sleeps for most of the year they are quite elusive, and therefore difficult to monitor in the wild. Show less
