Tim and Dad walk to school without Topsy. She's in hospital after her operation. Tim waves to Mr Rosen on his way to school with Dad. He tries to explain - using sign language and gestures - where Topsy is. Dad assures Tim he will phone Mr Rosen later and let him know what's happened.
During carpet time, Tim is preoccupied and therefore not concentrating properly as they learn about growing runner bean plants. Mr Morris asks Tim to tell the class about what happened to Topsy and, as Tim does so, Mr Morris writes up new words on the board.
When Mr Morris asks Tim to read back some words from the board, Tim struggles to make them out until he moves closer to the front. Mr Morris suggests the class make a get well card for Topsy, and when Tim is picked up from school, he shows it to Mummy, who has been staying overnight in hospital with Topsy since Saturday night. On their way to Daisy Ward at Bellford Hospital, Tim meets Dr Walton, who is looking after Topsy.
Dr Walton checks up on Topsy and lets Tim listen to his heartbeat with her stethoscope. Then, Dr Walton has to go to see another patient, so she arranges for senior charge nurse Tai to show the twins another special place in the hospital.
Tai takes Topsy and Tim to the playzone. Tim is excited to play, but Topsy is not feeling well enough. She needs to sit down, so Tim dresses up as a chicken and reads her a story in a funny chicken voice. Show less
