Topsy and Tim are very excited - they are going on a camping trip straight after school with Mummy and Dad. During the journey, Topsy feels sick. When they arrive at the campsite, Kerry and her family are already there. Topsy still feels unwell, and Kerry stays with her while Dad and Tim collect provisions from the campsite owners, Mr and Mrs Wilkins. Topsy feels a bit better and starts to draw faces in the mud on the side of the car with Kerry.
During Saturday night's campfire singing, things take a turn when Topsy is in a lot of pain. Mrs Wilkins, a retired doctor, thinks Topsy may have appendicitis and says she needs to go to hospital.
Mummy drives Topsy to hospital. Tim stays with Dad and Kerry's family, but is worried about Topsy. Tim and Dad phone Mummy in the night from the Wilkins' landline, and it is confirmed that Topsy has appendicitis and needs to have an operation. In the morning, Tim talks to Mummy and Topsy on a tablet over breakfast. Show less
