A group of teenage girls finish their attack on Shabnam – she is bloodied and bruised. As Stacey and Kush kiss, Kush breaks away, claiming that the pair of them should head to the Iftar Drive – Shabnam will be wondering where they are. Stacey firmly tells Kush that she isn’t going to have an affair – if he wants her, then they’ll be honest about it. The pair arrive at the Community Centre to discover that no-one knows of Shabnam’s whereabouts. As Shabnam tries to head back to the Community Centre, she collapses in the playground. Jade sits on a swing watching an unconscious Shabnam. Mick walks by and clocks the situation. Before calling an ambulance he asks Jade what her name is – her answer stuns Shabnam, who realises who she is. In hospital, Shabnam is told that she’ll have to stay overnight, despite her protests that she is feeling better. When the nurse offers to call the police, Shabnam firmly declines.

As Masood, Stacey, Tamwar, Nancy and Kush arrive, Shabnam is ordered back into bed. Shabnam admits that what happened wasn’t a mugging – it was a hate crime. Shabnam confides in Stacey, Jade keeps coming back to haunt her; she saw her that day. Shabnam asks Stacey whether she loved Lily from the moment she first saw her – she didn’t feel it with Jade. A guilty Kush firmly tells Stacey to stay away from him. Back in her hospital room, Shabnam’s doctor double checks that Shabnam understands the news that she has just been given – she’s pregnant...

Jade arrives at Patrick’s house with Jonathan to a nervous Shirley and Dean. In the café, Buster explains to Carol that Shirley’s chucked him out. Carol maintains that he should be there, helping Dean meet his daughter. Jade produces Kerplunk and asks Shirley and Dean to play; Shirley accepts but Dean doesn’t, until Jade insists. When Dean announces he’s off for a cigarette, Jade suggests he smokes inside. Shirley explains to Jade that Dean knows that smoking inside would make her ill – Dean’s brother has Cystic Fibrosis too. The atmosphere takes a cold turn when Jade asks Dean where his brother is.

Jade overhears Shirley and Dean bickering and slips away unseen when Dean reminds Shirley that she shouldn’t be bringing up Jimbo; she didn’t even go to his funeral. Dean enters the living room panicked; Jade’s gone. A hostile Mick returns Jade to Dean as a relieved Shirley and Jonathan round the corner. When Shirley apologises to Jonathan for how the day has unfolded and suggests that next time will be better, Jonathan dismisses them seeing Jade again. With Jade and Jonathan gone, Dean’s feeling negative and purports that Jade is better off well away from them. Buster returns and Shirley fills him in – Jonathan won’t be supporting their access to Jade. Buster promises Shirley that they’ll get her back – if Dean won’t step up, then he will.

Vincent claims that the money Patrick found is from the Albert – he hasn’t cashed it in at the bank yet. Kim firmly purports to Patrick that if he doesn’t trust Vincent, he doesn’t trust her either. When Patrick continues to question Vincent’s source of money, Vincent leaves, claiming he’s going to show Patrick. Vincent returns and shows Denise, Kim and Patrick photos of him as ‘Dr Cool Funk’ – he claims he had one song that went to number two and the money in question was royalties.

Denise attempts to pacify the situation but the men are at loggerheads; Patrick maintains that he can see right through Vincent. Kim questions why Patrick would still want to live with them if that’s how he feels and suggests that he find somewhere else to go. A stubborn Patrick agrees. Back on the Square, Vincent takes a shady phone call, where he admits the holdall attracted a few questions, before requesting that someone come over to get rid of it. Fatboy arrives to pick up Patrick’s stuff – he’s serious about moving out.

A cold Liam crosses Carol in the café who tries to make amends by giving him money for a takeaway but Liam isn’t ready to make up, still unimpressed that Jane is paying Carol to have Cindy. Cindy asks Liam why he’s been ignoring her calls. Cindy admits to Liam that it was Carol who gave her the money for her leaver’s ball dress and offers to take it back – a guilty Liam assures her that she doesn’t need to do that. Carol arrives home to find Cindy cooking dinner, wanting to show her appreciation. Carol thanks Liam for not coming clean to Cindy, but he remains dismissive.
