HARDtalk

Amr Darrag - Former Egyptian Minister, Freedom and Justice Party

Duration: 30 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC News ChannelLatest broadcast: on BBC News Channel HD

The Muslim Brotherhood was Egypt's oldest and once most successful political movement. It has offshoots and followers throughout the Middle East, but some say it is on the verge of extinction - a victim of its own failure in government. When Mohammed Morsi was deposed as Egypt's president, the organisation was banned and is now weaker not just in Egypt, but across the Middle East. Sarah Montague speaks to one of its political leaders, Amr Darrag, who is in self-imposed exile in Turkey. He says 'we will come back', but is this really feasible and do Egyptians want them back anyway? Show less
