In an exclusive three-part special for the BBC Asian Network, renowned film lyricist Javed Akhtar narrates the story behind some of his biggest soundtracks.

In the final part, Javed explains the writing process behind the creation of the music for the acclaimed 2001 movie 'Lagaan', which starred Aamir Khan.

Comprising of modern classics like 'O Rey Chori, 'Radha Kaise Na Jale' and 'Mitwa', 'Lagaan' was one of 2001's biggest selling soundtracks and featured the voices of Udit Narayan, Sukhwinder Singh and Alka Yagnik.

Javed talks about his working process, the inspiration behind the lyrics, working with the films' director, Ashutosh Gowariker and collaborating with A.R Rahman. Show less
