Taste of Britain is back in East Anglia today in the county of Suffolk. Brian Turner and Janet Street-Porter start their journey in Orford before heading off to Highfield Farm for a spot of gooseberry picking and Brian's first recipe - a gooseberry and ginger biscuit fool.
Some rather unsuccessful crabbing in Orford takes place before a visit to see some of the UK's rarest animals: suffolk punch horses. Janet takes the reins of a horsebus before Brian heads off to meet one of the UK's top chefs, Madalene Bonvini-Hamel, at the British Larder, for a pork platter that's hard to beat.
The world-class poultry at Sutton Hoo receives some special attention from Janet before Brian takes over the farmhouse kitchen for his celebration cook - roast crown of chicken with a wholemeal pancake stack, using flour ground by Janet at the Woodbridge tide mill. Show less
