Sean Rafferty introduces the penultimate piano recital in this week's series recorded in Dublin and Belfast. Today's concert was recorded in the First Presbyterian Church, Rosemary Street, Belfast. Pianist, Michael McHale performs a programme of Nocturnes by Chopin and John Field as well as Liszt's adventurous and virtuosic take on Verdi's themes from Rigoletto. He begins the programme with Schubert's Four Impromptus, D. 899 - the four pieces were written and published in 1827, the year before the composer's death.
