Mr Mentor is having tea in the cafe with his friend Miss Snip the dog groomer. When she tells him that she longs for a doggy of her own but isn't allowed pets in her flat, Mr Mentor gets an idea. He rushes off to the lighthouse and tries to invent a robodoggy for her.

Grandpa is sure Mr Mentor is going to need some help, so he shrinks. As suspected, the robodoggy can't wag its tail or prick its ears up or go woof-woof. Grandpa gets inside and gets everything working manually. Miss Snip is thrilled and takes her new pet all over Sunnysands to show him off. But Grandpa finds all the wagging and woof-woofing very tiring and falls asleep.

Fortunately, Wulfy sniffs out Grandpa's presence inside the robodoggy, enabling Elsie to rescue him, but not before Grandpa fixes the invention so that it works automatically. Show less
