Documentary. It's 2010 - four years to go to the Commonwealth Games, much of which will take place in Dalmarnock in the East End of Glasgow. Once thriving, Dalmarnock is now one the UK's most deprived areas - but with the games, all this might change.
Thirty-year-old local entrepreneur Darren has five kids and another on the way. Forced to close his businesses to make way for the Athletes' Village, he's hoping the compensation will help pay for his children to get private education. Across the street Margaret and her family are the last residents in a derelict row of tenements which the City Council need. Margaret and husband Jack refuse the initial compulsory purchase order of £30,000 - and end up barricading themselves in.
Meanwhile 18-year-old Steven is grabbing an opportunity brought about by the Games. Having left school with no qualifications he gets a job with the construction company building the new Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome. Show less
