Schizophrenia affects about one in a 100 people each year; two thirds of those diagnosed will go on to have further episodes throughout their lives. Sadly, it's a condition that sets alarm bells ringing- the very word schizophrenia is a stigma. Perhaps that's partly down to how it's been reported in the media.
