It's the turn of the next generation to enter the famous tent in this series of Junior Bake Off, hosted by the inimitable Aaron Craze. Forty of the country's best young bakers face the biggest baking battle on earth. They cross whisks over cakes, biscuits, pastry and bread as they try to prove themselves to queen of cakes Mary Berry and award-winning pastry chef James Martin in an attempt to become the 2013 Junior Bake Off champion.
Over the next three shows, the finalists face four demanding challenges in a bid to become Junior Bake Off champion. For their first challenge, they leave the security of the Bake Off tent and head to a professional kitchen, where they are tasked to make world-class scones and shortbread tea fancies. But for the first time, it's not just Mary and James they have to impress, as they bake for executive pastry chef of Harrods, Markus Bohr, and the winner of the Great British Bake Off 2012, John Whaite.
