Joe Crowley meets Luke Antins and Elizabeth Stanistreet, who have just bought an empty and derelict cottage on the borders of the Lake District National Park in Cumbria. They're keen to share their plans to turn the property into their first home together - and to get as much guidance as they can. To give Luke and Elizabeth tips and inspiration, Joe introduces them to a local couple who have converted a similar size house into an amazing home.
Joe also learns how the renovation of an historic building on a coal railway in Newcastle will provide a home for locals and help preserve the region's industrial heritage, and we follow empty property officer Matt Smith on his mission to save abandoned houses in Birmingham. Show less
