After a night in A&E, Lauren’s moved to the liver ward. Liz the hepatologist reports Lauren has acute alcoholic hepatitis. Max and Tanya discuss their chaotic past with Liz who questions if they can provide a stable environment for Lauren’s recovery. Max insists they can shelve their problems. Groggy Lauren wakes with Tanya by her side, demanding answers and vowing to look after her. Exhausted, Lauren pleads with Tanya to stop. An ultrasound confirms there’s no longer a safe amount for Lauren to drink. While Max fetches Lauren’s things from home, Liz suggests another option for Lauren is residential care and gives Tanya a leaflet for The Banford Clinic. Tanya’s calling the clinic when Max returns. Tanya hides the leaflet and tells Max the prognosis – one more drink could kill Lauren. Max swears they’ll help Lauren together. Tanya nods guiltily and stays quiet.

Joey’s desperate for news of Lauren but is sent home from the hospital. He rants at Lucy and squares up to Peter, squashing Alice’s flowers for Lauren, then storms off.

Abi waits at home, listening as Cora and Dot discuss Lauren, then flees to the park. Spotting AJ and Alfie downing beers, she shouts at them. She confides in Jay that she’s a horrible person for being angry at Lauren. In the Arches, Jay, Dexter and Lola surprise Abi with a birthday cake. Jay insists Abi hasn’t a bad bone in her body.

Roxy and Masood challenge AJ and Alfie to run off the calories in their fried breakfasts. They manage 15 minutes before slacking off in the park where Masood catches them.

Kirsty’s rattled when Carl leaves her a note, “call me”. After smoothing things over with Max, Kirsty meets Carl to warn him he’ll never get inside her head. Later, Kirsty tells Kat her period’s a day late. Show less
