Jim is growing tomatoes but this year he is conducting a taste test after a viewer's email from 2012 claiming that the variety Sun Gold gave the best flavour. This time, he is growing eight varieties to compare their tastes; Shirley, Alicante, Ruth's Perfect, Sun Gold and cherry tomatoes, as well as beefsteak varieties Giant Syrian and Black Russian. In a few weeks' time, someone will have to take on the tough job of tasting the crop in the name of science.

Carole is also starting a wee trial. In this case, bought-in turf versus seeded grass. Carole tries to lawn an area that was previously been a planting bed with both side by side to compare.
