Ian’s builders leave when he’s unable to pay them an extra £3000. Ian hides his troubles from Lucy. Janine refuses to lend Ian more money and threatens to withdraw her investment completely. Ian can’t find a new builder. Jean helps Ian clear rubble from the restaurant and finds a lock box. It’s Derek’s; Ian finds family photos, a letter from David to Carol and an envelope of cash inside. Lucy visits the site and tells Ian she’s proud of him. Although torn when he sees Alice, Ian calls the builders - they can start work again on Monday.
Kat’s annoyed that Roxy told Janine she and Michael were together. Amy’s unsettled, Kat reassures her that the bad man’s gone. Amy repeats this to Alfie; Kat offers an explanation that makes Roxy look good. Roxy’s grateful and brings Kat a family picture Amy’s drawn. They agree they don’t have to be a messed up family.
Mo demands the rent for No.23. Michael hands his over in return for Mo’s key. Michael thinks he’s made a breakthrough with Janine but, believing he’s with Kat, Janine declares chance meetings are the only way he’ll see Scarlett from now on. Alice can’t find a job. Michael refuses to lend her any rent money. Fed up, Alice harangues Michael. Impressed, he apologises and gives her the money.
Jay’s hurt when he realises Dexter and Phil are scamming customers behind his back. Dexter’s amused when Jay ineptly attempts a scam. Phil reassures Jay he doesn’t think he’s soft. Jay buys an old banger; he and Dexter can do it up to make money for their holiday.
Poppy’s belief that she and Fatboy are 100% compatible is shattered when he leaves tuna in its tin. In recompense, Fatboy suggests Poppy create a ‘Poppy encyclopaedia’. Poppy’s touched and they decide they’re perfect enough. Show less
