Go Engineering

Episode 22: Canal Locks

First broadcast: on CBeebiesLatest broadcast: on CBeebies HD

Nina investigates how boats get uphill with the help of Felix, her touch neuron. Engineers Fraser and Ruairidh visit Nina in her workshop and discover that canals are like roads for boats. Next they visit Neptune's Staircase in Fort William, a long line of canal locks. Canal locks help boats move uphill by trapping water between gates and slowly floating the boat upwards. They are like steps, but for boats. Show less
