Britain's Empty Homes Revisited

Episode 1

Duration: 30 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC One HDLatest broadcast: on BBC Two England

Over the years, Britain's Empty Homes has been on a mission to show what can be done to revitalise and transform some of the UK's estimated one million empty properties.

In this series, presenter Joe Crowley catches up with some of the people we've met along the way who had taken the plunge and staked everything on turning unloved houses into bespoke family homes.

In this episode, Joe returns to Rugby to see how Hannah and David Ohandjanian have been getting on with their property. When Joe first met the couple back in 2012, they had just taken on the renovation of a three-storey Victorian building in the city centre which had been sitting empty for three years after being used as offices. Ten months down the line, Joe is keen to see how far they've got in transforming the property into their dream family home.

We also pay another visit to a listed building in Kent to see how plans for its renovation have progressed, and we catch up with empty property officer Sue Li in her mission to save abandoned homes in the Amber Valley. Show less
