Neighbourhood Blues

Series 2

Episode 2

Duration: 45 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC One HDLatest broadcast: on BBC One Wales

Neighbourhood policing is all about listening to the concerns of the public and acting on their worries by delivering fast action to clean up crime where they live. It sounds good on paper, but does it really work?

In this episode, the team visits the home of a couple believed to be the owners of a banned dog. Forced to seize the animal, tests then prove the pet to be a pitbull-type, meaning the family face the devastating choice of having the dog destroyed or fighting to save its life in court.

A clampdown against anti-social teenage behaviour sees neighbourhood officers in Humberside lay down the law to an internet troll, and the team then round up a young lad who has breached his ASBO and offer support to a mum who is pulling her hair out over the wayward behaviour of her son in the home.

And an initiative to rid housing estates of suspected drug dealers sees the team strike against a man suspected of bringing misery from dealing drugs from the comfort of his sofa. Show less
