Joe meets Amy Linley, who has taken her first step onto the property ladder and become the proud owner of an empty three-bedroom terraced house in West Yorkshire that needs a total overhaul. She is full of enthusiasm but is new to the renovation game so is keen to hear all the hints and tips she can. She wants to preserve as much of the house's original charm as she can, so Joe and Amy visit a couple who took on a dilapidated Edwardian property and have cleverly reinstated many of the period features.

There is also a look at the increasing issue of metal theft in the UK and the toll it is taking on our vulnerable empty properties. Plus, the programme follows Dave Carter, an empty property officer in north London, as he continues his work tracking down the owners of empty properties and getting them back in use. Show less
