In this episode, Joe meets Jo and Mark Bushby, who have bought a beautiful stone cottage in rural Devon. However they now fear they have bitten off more than they can chew. The cottage needs a lot of work and they are in desperate need of some wise words and guidance, so Joe introduces them to a woman who has recently completed an almost identical project and has lived to tell the tale.
Plus, the sad story of a listed but condemned building in Liverpool that has great historic relevance to the city. It has been left to fall in to rack and ruin over the past few decades, but there could be light at the end of the tunnel. The programme also follows empty property officer Sue Li in Derbyshire, as she does her best to persuade owners of abandoned homes to take responsibility for them and get them lived in once again.
