Janine warns a stressed Michael the wedding reception at Gormley Manor needs paying for. Alfie entrusts Jean with a large amount of cash, giving her carte blanche to organise the Vic’s finances. Michael unsuccessfully tries to borrow money from Jack. He finds Jean amidst a sea of receipts in the Vic and gives her £500 return on her investment. Jean asks to reinvest when Michael lies he saw Alfie crying over finances. Michael advises she invest big in a friend’s boxing scheme ‘In Your Corner’. Jean offers to invest Alfie’s cash but later gets cold feet and pulls out.
Ian’s stayed up all night. Mandy’s keen to go on a honeymoon cruise. Ian realises he forgot the café’s having an inspection. Mandy talks to Phil about alcoholism and avoids calls from the hospital. In the café, Ian’s rushed off his feet. Lauren knocks rancid rubbish all over the place. Ian mistakes a man from his Accountant’s for the Health Inspector, who arrives moments later, unimpressed. The Accountant warns a stunned Ian if he doesn’t cut down on spending he’ll lose everything. Later, preoccupied Ian snaps he’s pleased when Mandy confides Lorraine’s seriously ill. Mandy’s hurt - she’s spent all day booking their wedding venue. Guilty, Ian rashly agrees to the cruise.
Cora gives out flyers in protest of the B&B building work. Kim organises a community barbeque, promising a special Olympic guest. It’s Billy. Kim reveals a gaudy new B&B sign – ‘Kim’s Olympic Palace’.
Lauren quits at Butcher’s Joints when Janine withholds her wages. Ian impulsively hires, then fires, Lauren at the cafe. Max’s amused. Lauren refuses his offer to top up her phone credit.
Alfie plans to clean up at a May Day barbeque but all his punters flock to Kim’s for free. Show less
