Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the sinking of Titanic, actor Bernard Hill who played Captain Smith in the 1997 Oscar-winning film, discovers the impact the tragedy had on the port of Southampton.

Around 550 crew from Southampton died in the disaster. The unwritten rule of the sea 'women and children first' ensured the loss of husbands, fathers, sons. It plunged streets and houses into weeks of mourning and changed lives forever. Show less
