Painter and decorator JJ has never got over losing his first wife Claire and their son Kieran to a drink-drive accident. It nearly destroyed him, but thanks to their teenage daughter Abbie, and JJ's second wife Lisa, he's managed to keep going. One evening, a discovery turns his world upside down - a pile of love letters to Lisa, from 'T', going back years. But as much as JJ desperately wants to read the letters, he can't - words have never been JJ's strong point, and where possible he avoids them altogether. Not even Lisa knows the extent of his problems.
JJ suspects that 'T' might be his workmate Anthony, and to make matters worse, Lisa has started making excuses about working late. Struggling to find someone he can trust to read him the letters, he turns to Fiona Taylor, Abbie's teacher at school. Fiona's adamant they're too private for her to read aloud, but maybe she could help him learn to read for himself? Show less
