As a child, country and western star Tim McGraw had no idea who his father was. He was shocked when he discovered his dad was legendary baseball star Tug McGraw. And even then, it took time to get Tug to accept him as a son. Tug lost his battle to cancer in 2004, and Tim is determined now to learn more about his paternal family. Tim discovers his ancestors were settlers living on the very edge of the frontier - in the heart of what was known as Indian country.
Going further back, he discovers another of his ancestors was one of the biggest landowners in the Shenandoah Valley, and provided bed and lodging for a young man travelling through the valley. Not only was this young man impressed with his hosts, but went on to play a central role in the formation of this young country. His name: George Washington.
Finally, Tim discovers that his ancestors came to the US from Germany, and that on the same boat was another family called Presley, one of whose descendants also made a bit of a name for himself as a singing star! Show less
