Downtrodden, Gina is at her lowest ebb for some time and with Lenny wanting to buy the failing Oyster, she doesn't know what to do. Malcolm reckons there's more to life than the Oyster, but things haven't been great with Murray either and when Murray suggests selling up and buying a campervan it's all the spur Gina needs to fight for her business. She sets about drumming up more business for the dead café, but when an agitated Stella turns up, Gina is surprised to learn she's getting married to Bob today. It's not lost on Gina and Murray that there seems to be little chance of them ever tying the knot. Gina's newfound determination to make the Oyster a success takes a blow when it soon comes to light that Eileen is still selling takeaway coffees. Gina has a go at Raymond and Liz for their lack of support, but when Murray has called in an estate agent to value the café, Gina is livid and makes her call to Lenny. Lenny smells blood and undercuts his original offer and Gina is surprised at the speed of the deal and also of Lenny's plans to turn the café into a 24-hour concern. Gina's in the Ship for a much-needed glass of vino, but ends up taking Stuart off of a harassed Raymond's hands although she quickly passes the baby over to Malcolm when she discovers a For Sale sign has been erected outside the Oyster. Livid, she has it out with Murray, but when Malcolm returns home without Stuart, everything stops as everyone joins the search to find the missing child. Gina struggles to get Malcolm to retrace his steps, but with Dan there, Gina eventually works out that Stuart may have been left on the subway. At the subway, disaster is averted when Big Bob hands an unhurt baby over to Eileen. Gina reckons Malcolm's just had a wee turn, but it soon comes to light that Eileen has known about his deteriorating health for some time and Gina is livid. However, when a very emotional Eileen breaks down Gina momentarily softens and tells her sister she'll fix things. Gina has rediscovered her mojo and shocks Murray by telling him their relationship is over - it's time to face facts that they're going nowhere. Her transformation is complete when she turns the tables on Lenny by nicking his idea for a 24-hour café and by renegotiating their deal so that he only takes a 30 per cent stake in the business. Meanwhile, Eileen is relieved to share the burden of Malcolm, but a strong Gina reminds her Malcolm isn't dead yet - now if Eileen would just fast-track that application for the new license for the café.
