Joe Crowley meets Camilla Hanchet who is the new owner of a run down, 300 years old thatched cottage. The property is in need of major modernisation but with help from her artist brother David, Camilla is rolling up her sleeves and preparing to turn the cottage into a dream home.
Camilla is introduced to Lynn Newland and her builder husband Dean who have plenty of expertise when it comes to thatched properties after buying a three bedroom cottage in Oxfordshire that had been standing empty for two years. Despite the building needing a lot of work Lynn and Dean were determined to fulfill its potential and have lovingly restored it to make the most of the period features.
