Joe Crowley meets Alison Grant who has bought an abandoned ranger's cottage in Cuckmere Haven, East Sussex at auction. The excitement of her purchase was dampened by the discovery of some unexpected surprises lurking in the timbers of the house, but Alison is still determined to pursue her dream renovation.

Joe takes her to meet a couple who tackled a similar renovation with their derelict barn in Sedelscombe, East Sussex for some guidance and inspiration.
