Pat determines to beat the cancer, she’s left reeling at the news that tumours have spread from her pancreas to her lungs, abdominal cavity and bones. Back on the Square, Mo’s concerned when Ricky snaps as she makes a dig about Pat. Visiting the hospital, Mo pleads Pat fight whatever’s wrong. Meanwhile, Janine insists Pat’s chest pains are just heartburn. Carol raises money to make Janine’s loan repayment by selling their clothes. Bianca wonders if they should call David about Pat, Carol doesn’t think he’d want to know. Despite her doctor’s warnings that she‘s little time left, Pat refuses treatment when she learns chemotherapy would only give her a few months. At home, Patrick presents Pat with flowers from the stall holders, she doesn’t tell him she’s ill. Janine’s furious the kids sold her Christmas presents to pay Pat’s debt and announces Pat’s incurred a late fee. Pat tells Ricky to call Simon, Ian and David and sets out for the Vic; after 25 years drinking there she won’t stop now. As Ricky breaks the news to Bianca, Pat watches a festive scene surrounded by loved ones.
Jean goes overboard making food for Tommy’s 1st birthday party. Kat’s thankful they’ve got through the past year. Kat’s bought a teddy for James’ headstone. Alfie films the party using a penguin nanny cam. Watching the footage, he’s devastated to find a recording of Kat telling Jean that Alfie doesn’t love her.
Lauren buys Tyler a t-shirt which he gives to Anthony. Whitney’s left to take care of the kids after Tommy’s party, Tyler helps her dressed as a dinosaur.
Michael drags Janine to Tommy’s party but tells her Tommy’s a millstone round his neck. Janine leaves abruptly, claiming she’s staying at a hotel. Michael’s shocked to discover an unplanned pregnancy clinic website on her laptop. Show less
