Pat’s spent the night in hospital. She lies to Ricky she’s fine and ignores the doctor’s advice to wait for her scan results. Back at home, she brushes away Patrick’s concerns and arranges a night out. Bianca reassures Pat she’s taking care of Janine’s repayments then warns Janine to lay off. Janine brings the deadline forward and scoffs when Pat experiences chest pains. Pat’s shocked by news she hears from Simon, and leaves David an angry voicemail. Later, Patrick’s alarmed to find Pat doubled over in pain. Pat admits her symptoms have worsened and worries what she’ll face in hospital. With Patrick’s support, Pat returns to hospital for more tests, they plan a real date for the future. Pat and Ricky are stunned when the doctor announces Pat’s scans reveal abnormalities which suggest cancer. Confident they’ll soon receive an insurance pay-out for the B&B, Kim goes on a shopping spree. Patrick’s forced to admit he stored illegal booze and fireworks in the B&B - the insurers won’t pay. Denise’s hurt but later, on seeing the Masoods torn apart, forgives him; at least they still have each other.
Zainab welcomes mourners for Yusef into the house, insisting it’s her wifely duty. She turns to her pills when Patrick wonders why Yusef went inside the B&B during the fire. Tariq arrives insisting he has a right to mourn with Afia, Zainab throws him out. Afia worries to Denise that the Masoods see her as an outsider and later confesses to Zainab she feels guilty for letting Yusef go. Later, Syed discovers Zainab sobbing she’s the guilty one, he comforts her but misunderstands her distress.
Janine pays Derek to “convince” a client to pay her what she’s owed. Rose is distraught by Yusef’s death and refuses to believe the gossip. Dot comforts her. Show less
