Michael has been generating interest in the arrival of the new practice Doctor but when Dr Dan finally breezes into town he has to endure the ire of Molly O'Hara after he mistakes her for a bag lady.

Dan telephones his ex-wife to tell her he's back on his feet and wants to see Ollie but she isn't playing ball. Leyla's attempts to help Dan settle in fall foul when she is wrong-footed when Dan explains he is a recovering alcoholic. Michael's is livid that Dan didn't tell him about his past and sends Dan away while he considers his position - is the new partnership in danger of falling apart already, taking Michael's hopes for the future of the practice with it?

Alone, Dan finds support from Stella and forgets his troubles when he has to spring into action to save Adeeb's life after he falls through a roof and ruptures a femoral artery. Despite Dan's heroic actions Michael makes it clear that nothing has changed when he returns to work later that day. With a nudge from Leyla, Michael eventually comes round and makes his peace with Dan and they show a united front in the Ship.

Scarlett is still rattled by Lenny's suspicions that he's Callum's granddad and wants Kelly-Marie to steer clear of him. When Jimmy mentions Kelly-Marie needs a job, Lenny suggests to Gabriel he should hire her for the arcade. Gabriel invites her for an interview, Scarlett is adamant that Kelly-Marie should not do the job and Kelly-Marie does all she can to blow the interview but Gabriel is determined to hire her. Sparks fly when a livid Scarlett finds Kelly-Marie working a shift and Kelly-Marie threatens to leave town if Scarlett continues to interfere. Mother and daughter are later reconciled and Kelly-Marie promises to stick around.

Jack is unsure about Frances. She is asking a lot about Lenny but it is only Jack's suspicion that's piqued. When he confronts Frances about the lack of details in her history, she spins him a line about how she returned following the death of her mother and decided to stay to help the family. Jack is sold. They start to get along very nicely indeed at the Ship and Jack thinks he's on to a sure thing but when he interrupts Frances's chat with Lenny, she blows cold again and disappears. Show less
