Duration: 30 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC Radio 2Latest broadcast: on BBC Radio 2

Clare Teal presents another chance to hear the first part of the BBC Big Band in concert with Maceo Parker. Recorded at the 2011 Brecon Jazz Festival, their set is a tribute to 'the genius of soul' Ray Charles and includes some of Ray's biggest hits including Busted, Georgia, Hit The Road Jack and Them That's Got.

Saxophonist and singer Maceo Parker's name is synonymous with funk and soul. Over the past 50 years he has worked extensively with James Brown, George Clinton, Bootsy Collins, De la Soul and Prince. This is his first concert appearance with the BBC Big Banda and conductor Steve Sidwell. Show less
