Remy is a young rat in the French countryside who has a nose for fine food. After escaping from being shot and from a whirlpool, he finds himself in Paris, the city of his cooking idol - Chef Gusteau. Gusteau is dead, but his spirit lives on through Remy, who makes an unusual alliance with a restaurant's new garbage boy. The culinary and personal adventures begin, despite Remy's family's skepticism and the rat-hating world of humans...
