Zainab vows to reunite her fractured family after the previous night's terrible events - but will Tam and Masood listen to her plea? Denise has a savage demand for Yusef.

Groggy Zainab wakes in the morning to discover Yusef, who tells her she took some pills to help her sleep. Horrified that he spent the night, Zainab throws him out, insisting he stay away. Denise’s worst fears are confirmed when she sees Yusef emerge from the Masoods’. Hurt, she tells him to leave Walford. Yusef wants Afia to leave Walford with him, claiming Shameem’s accusations were lies. Afia refuses. Zainab rejects Syed when he empathises with her, declaring she’s done nothing wrong. Zainab begs Masood for forgiveness. Pleading for a fresh start, she invites the family over for a meal. They’re interrupted by angry Denise, who reveals that Yusef spent the night. When Zainab can’t deny it, Masood declares their family’s nothing but a sham and walks out, followed by Tamwar and Afia. Devastated and alone, Zainab clings to Yusef for support; he assures her he’s there for her.

Christian tells Syed to leave Zainab alone; she deserves everything she gets. Syed’s frustrated that Christian can’t understand he’ll always love his mother.

Desperate to get Tanya alone, Max sends Greg in search of pomegranates, claiming she loves them. Tanya insists what happened was a mistake, accusing Max of enjoying the thrill of sneaking around. Tanya declares that nothing can happen between them but later, when Greg arrives home, she immediately sends him out on a fabricated errand. Max emerges from hiding and kisses her. 

Julie’s suspicious that Billy’s acting secretively. He reveals he’s found them a flat. It’s a squat, dingy and abandoned, but Julie’s delighted to have their own home.

Shirley agrees to Phil sponsoring Rainie on one condition; he won’t see her again if she falls off the wagon. Phil reveals that he’s bought the café for Shirley.
