Abigail and Beau are two Westcountry children with a common dream - to be able to walk without help. Both of them were born prematurely and both of them have a form of cerebal palsy which has severely limited their mobility. Now, they're to undergo a pioneering procedure which could enable them to cast aside their wheelchairs and walk unaided for the first time.
Nine-year-old Abigail from Bristol is forced to travel to the USA for her surgery. But seven-year-old Beau from Cornwall is to become the first person to have the operation here in the UK. Surgeons at Frenchay Hospital near Bristol are offering the new procedure on the NHS for the first time. If Beau's operation is successful it will bring hope to hundreds of other families with disabled children.
This documentary follows the progress of both Abigail and Beau as they undergo the surgery that could change their lives forever. Show less
