Today's the day Scarlett receives the long awaited results from her ovarian cancer treatment. Jimmy wants to be there with Scarlett but is torn when McCabe offers him a 'driving' job. There's no way Jimmy can desert Scarlett, but (oblivious to the fact it's McCabe), she encourages him to go because they need the money. McCabe summons Jimmy and Fraser to meet him and explains this delivery is urgent. Fraser's eager to please and offers to do the job alone, but McCabe doesn't trust him. They compromise that the job will be delayed to accommodate Jimmy's hospital commitment. Fraser is initially irritated at the decision but is soon shell-shocked when he sees what the delivery is - drugs. Jimmy takes Scarlett to the hospital but they face an anxious long wait. Jimmy realises he's not going to make the McCabe delivery and, in desperation, passes the job on to Fraser. However, Amber has borrowed the van to help with carnival preparations. A horrified Fraser arrives to witness Amber carrying the last of the boxes (containing McCabe's drugs) into the flat at the Tall Ship and the van then driving off. Meanwhile, at the hospital, Jimmy and Scarlett's wait has been worthwhile - Scarlett is given the all clear. Her cancer is in remission. They are both elated.
Fraser knows he's going to be late for the drop. He frantically tracks down Amber to apologise for his earlier outburst. She's with Robbie, looking after Madonna, but the pair get called into Jack's emergency and Fraser is quite literally left holding the baby. He phones Jimmy to explain the situation but as he does he sees Madonna playing with the pills. Grabbing them off her, he thinks he got to her in time. As Scarlett receives a warm welcome in the Tall Ship Bar, Jimmy picks up the message from Fraser and hares up the stairs to see what's happened to Madonna. Eileen and Fraser are there. Madonna is unconscious. Fraser admits to Jimmy what's happened and gives him the pills. Jimmy's raging and growls at Fraser to get the drugs out of the pub.
At the hospital, Jimmy is forced to reveal the source of Madonna's illness and hands over the pills. Jimmy explains Fraser had left the drugs lying around. Scarlett is incredulous. She buys the story but Jimmy's in meltdown with his own guilt. Back at the pub, an anxious Fraser goes to remove the drugs but stops in his tracks when two policemen enter. Desperate, Fraser flushes the evidence away. Meanwhile, the news that Madonna will be fine isn't enough to calm Scarlett. She's like a woman possessed and has to find Fraser and give him what for. Amber answers the flat door and gets the wrath of Scarlett. Amber is disbelieving but is soon forced to face facts when she sees Fraser with McCabe and his henchmen. Amber, Jimmy and Scarlett run to the scene. McCabe takes full advantage of the situation and enjoys revealing all to Scarlett and Amber. Fraser returns to Amber, licking his wounds, whilst Jimmy turns to catch the entire contents of his wardrobe which Scarlett is unceremoniously chucking into the back courts. He makes an impassioned plea for Scarlett's clemency, but it falls on deaf ears. While at Amber's Fraser pleads with his girlfriend. Knowing they can't run, Amber realises there's only one person she can turn to for help - her father.
