Sybil Law

Episode 3: Sybil Writes

Duration: 15 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC Radio OrkneyLatest broadcast: on BBC Radio Scotland Highlands and Islands

In her weekly radio show, Sybil Law FM, between bursts of Sybil's delightfully eccentric choice of music, Sybil's callers and celebrity guests are alternately charmed and harangued.
This episode features a delightful cameo phone in from Stanley Baxter as a cantankerous poet.

Fans of her show include Betty Potter who runs a wool shop and Hilton MacBain who is one of Sybil's admirers. Off air she argues with her bossy niece Senga, feeds mints to her beloved dog Jasper to keep him sweet, runs her " Say NEIN to nine ninety nine" pricing campaign; collects recipes such as " Bunnies On the Lawn" and "Hot Water Soup" from regular callers to her show for her Octogenarian cookbook, and holds English language tutorials where we and her teenage pupils benefit from her unique teaching of syntax and metaphor
