In this episode poor Marjory is dragged along by her Mother to Laverloch Findo's Hedgefare Gathering, but both come a cropper with a falling tree. Has Vladimir the Badger's henchman finally tracked her down?

Written by and starring acclaimed author AL Kennedy, the story centres on Marjory Anne Smith who is approximately 40 - she doesn't like to get specific - and desperate. She wanted to be in love: hugely, falling down a lovely big well kind of in love - the sort that's really a form of mental illness. And then Brian turned up: charming, likeable, available and with multiple bank accounts Brian. They moved in together - well, he moved into her place - and all was fine. Then the economy takes a down turn, she gets made redundant by text. Arriving home she finds her Pimlico flat has been gutted by fire. The insurance won't pay out. Brian has disappeared - perhaps to Brazil - and what little money she had has disappeared with Brian. She is being investigated by the police - suspected arson, suspected fraud, money laundering...she has two options - fling herself into the Thames or go back to live with her mother in Laverloch Findo, the small Scottish village she fled (with another!
dodgy boyfriend) when she was 17.
Even the Laverloch Findo bus ride into town makes the Thames seem inviting. On arrival, her mother is as undermining and manipulative as ever and Marjory (she'd been "Anne" in London) discovers that she has to live up to the imaginary life - and husband and children - her mother invented in her absence for the benefit of friends and neighbours. On arrival, her mother is as undermining and manipulative as ever and Marjory (she'd been "Anne" in London) discovers that she has to live up to the imaginary life - and husband and children - her mother invented in her absence for the benefit of friends and neighbours. Then she runs into Petey the local radio DJ, and even though she believes sheâ??s being hunted by an assassin, suddenly things start to look up.
