Another busy morning in the Brodie household as Michael prepares for a meeting with Nick and various other prominent members of the wider community. Nicole's interest is piqued by Nick's involvement and offers to help out. Excited, Nicole asks Joanne for advice on boys, to which Joanne tells her to just be herself. After the meeting in the Tall Ship, Nick and Nicole chat where she reveals she is a fan of The Tipping Point, Nick's favourite book (a nugget of information she got from her dad). Michael tries to thank Nick by offering dinner at some point, but Nicole's intervention brings the invite forward to that very night. Afterwards, Nick and Nicole have the chance for a quiet chat, where Nicole demonstrates support for Nick's career, and they clearly get on well.

Nicole is surprised, and more than a little miffed, to find out that Nick's wife Hannah will be joining them for the meal. When they arrive, Nicole is immediately made to feel small by the sophisticated and mature Hannah. Over dinner, Nicole is constantly trying to impress Nick, and asks the Morrisons awkward questions about their marriage. As things move on, Nicole feels she is being patronised by Hannah and tells her so. Later, Hannah makes amends with Nicole, jumping to the conclusion that Nicole has been trying to impress Michael over dinner - attributing her behaviour as an attempt to deal with the new family set-up she has found herself in - Nicole is happy for her to believe this. The adults head off to the pub, and with them gone, Nicole gets into her jammies and takes her make up off. Soon, however, Nick returns having left his phone at the house. Nicole is embarrassed to be seen in her slobby clothes, but not so embarrassed that she doesn't give Nick the come on. Nick baulks at the idea, but Nicole has put her phone number in his mobile before he can stop her. Nick tells Nicole that her behaviour is inappropriate but it's clear she has fallen for him.

Gina is preparing to visit Ruth hoping that she'll get out of hospital today. She leaves Eilidh with Stella and heads off to the hospital with Eileen. Eileen tries to assure Gina that she did the right thing by having Ruth sectioned. When they meet, Ruth is in good spirits but immediately senses that something is wrong. Gina tells her that Andy has returned to Dubai, leaving his wedding ring behind. This hits Ruth hard but she remains optimistic, deciding that she will sell Andy's ring and take Eilidh shopping as soon as she gets home. She heads into her appointment to find out the verdict on her section. When Ruth returns to Gina and Eileen they are delighted to find that she has been told she is free to go home. However, Ruth drops the bombshell that she has decided to remain at the hospital as a voluntary patient. Gina is shocked, but Ruth assures her that this is for the best, that she is finally taking control of her life. Gina and Eileen leave Ruth at the hospital, still concerned, and Gina confides in Murray that she is worried that Ruth being in control of her life may not be such a good thing, because she has lost control so many times in the past.

With Stella left in charge of Eilidh and Deek responsible for baby Stuart, it's not long before the two join forces and rope Bob into babysitting duties. Deek is unsettled when he witnesses a spark between Stella and Bob but the moment is interrupted when Eilidh is sick. Bob turns entertainer to cheer Eilidh up and his goofy dancing soon draws a giggle. Later Bob and Deek chat, Bob reveals he'll never pursue Stella while Deek still has a thing for her. In the Tall Ship, Raymond thanks Deek for his help, and asks him to keep schtum around Eileen. Meanwhile, Robbie has also noticed the spark between Bob and Stella and teases Bob about it, but Bob is not best pleased. Eileen spots that Stuart's nappy has been attached with gaffer tape and confronts Raymond first, then Deek and Bob. Stella comments to the boys that Eileen's reaction is exactly the reason why she didn't tell Gina about Eilidh's sickness. Back at Deek's there is clearly a growing chemistry between Bob and Stella, she gets embarrassed and heads home, with Deek volunteering to walk her back. When they are gone, Robbie continues to wind Bob up about the fact he fancies the same girl as Deek. Show less
