Ian tells Glenda to go, she can’t be seen here. Glenda leaves and phones the ambulance, Ian waits with Phil as he lies on the floor struggling to breathe. Ian enjoys having power over Phil for a change, but Phil gasps, even half dead, he owns Ian. Angry, Ian hides Phil in the office and sends the paramedics away when they arrive. Phil ask him to call them back, but Ian tells him he brought this on himself for making Ian’s life hell. Ian watches Phil in pain struggling for breath; he wants Phil to beg him for help. Eventually Phil begs, Ian says no and leaves him alone to die. Later, overhearing a tearful Ben ask where his Dad is, Ian feels guilty. Phil wakes up in hospital with Shirley; she tells him Ian found him. Phil asks Shirley to marry him.
Jane and Shirley meet with Miss Underwood, she misunderstands and thinks that Jane and Shirley are lovers and blames the bullying on Ben’s home life. Shirley and Jane set her straight; the problem is at school, not home. Ben walks in with a split lip, Miss Underwood promises to look into the bullying. Ben confides in Shirley that he was bullied when he was in the young offender’s institute.
Whitney and Janine’s friendship grows stronger when Janine tells her she’s had it with men, and she wants to be able to rely on Whitney.
Patrick gives Heather a homemade ‘miracle cure’ for her cold. Jodie and Darren enjoy looking after George, and when Heather picks George up they worry about how well Heather’s coping while she’s ill.
Ronnie discovers that Roxy’s trying for a baby with Christian, and worries that Roxy hasn’t thought this through; she can’t change the fact that Christian is gay. Show less
