Episode 5: Thailand

Duration: 1 hour

First broadcast: on BBC Two ScotlandLatest broadcast: on BBC One Yorkshire

The tension mounts in the semi-final in Thailand as the remaining four teams put their map-reading skills to the test as they try to navigate through the dense Thai jungle. Presenter Steve Jones offers them support throughout the daunting tasks that await them. The team that is last to the chopper after completing the challenges will be left behind.

The teams must first search a mountain of rice to find a code written on a single grain. They then must take offerings of water, incense and light up to the majestic temple, up 516 steps. The first team up with all their water remaining wins. However, should the water spill, candle flame blow out or incense burn out, the team has to go to the bottom and start again.

The third challenge, a jungle trek, proves difficult with the lack of map reading skills evident amongst the teams, as well as the jungle heat and humidity getting to some contestants. They have to think strategically about their route choices and persevere. The last challenge sees them build a traditional raft - but first the materials need to be transported to the river by elephant.

Will the teams keep their cool in the humid jungle trek? Will the fashionistas maintain their elegance in the elephant challenge? And which teams, ultimately, will secure their place in the final? Of the four remaining teams, only three will make it to the final of Drop Zone. Show less
