Ben disappears. Phil looks for him, but soon gives up. Ben eventually turns up at the Beales’. He’s uncommunicative and edgy, flinching at any loud noise. Ian, Jane and Peter and then Shirley and Phil try to talk to Ben and attempt to persuade him to come home. Frustrated, Phil goes to Glenda for sex. Finally, Shirley, manages to get Ben to start talking, as they bake a cake. With all the focus on Ben, Jay’s frozen out. Ben tells Jay not to get used to living with Phil, he’ll find a way to get him out soon. Ben punches Phil – Phil’s finally proud of his son. They hug.

Carol enlists Bianca’s help to ensure Whitney stays with Peter and away from Connor. Janine advises Whitney to go for Connor – he’s fit. Whitney asks Connor to meet her at home, no-one’s there and she wants another look at his stolen jewellery. Glenda realises Carol’s jealous of Connor and Whitney and tells her to stop them before they sleep together. Carol tells Connor to leave Whitney alone, she’s vulnerable, was abused. Later, Carol heads for Pat’s, but she’s too late, when Connor appears in his boxers she realises he and Whitney have had sex.

Billy and Julie both admit they want more from their relationship and have sex in the back room of the launderette.

Janine crushes up more pills to give Ryan. Janine asks Billy to fix her front door and shows him Ryan – insisting he’s ill and contagious and everyone should stay away. She persuades Whitney not to visit. Julie notices Stacey looking at her phone and asks if her boyfriend hasn’t called? Stacey insists she hasn’t got one. Show less
