Alister McReynolds marks the anniversary of Thanksgiving by going to where the Old World meets the New at the Ulster American Folk Park. He hears how the Ulster-Scots settlers celebrated Thanksgiving, and gets to sample a taste of what they ate.
Alister drops by as a settler family welcomes home their soldier son during the Civil War, and hears how the Centre for Migration Studies is marking Thanksgiving.
And continuing the theme of emigration, Alister meets Castlebay, a duo from Maine who have created The Grand Design, the story of a group of Scots-Irish Presbyterians who sailed for America in 1741, re-told for our day in a multimedia programme with music and song.
