Gary Lineker presents highlights from the first day of the new Barclays Premier League season. Champions Chelsea begin the defence of their title against newly-promoted West Brom, who are led by former Blues favourite Roberto Di Matteo. The Italian scored as Chelsea won FA Cup finals in 1997 and 2000, and is guaranteed a warm reception on his return to Stamford Bridge.

While West Brom are back in the big time after just a year’s absence, Blackpool travel to Wigan for their first top-flight match since 1971. Tangerines boss Ian Holloway took the club up on a shoestring budget last season, but knows his side will start as one of the favourites for relegation. If they are to defy the doubters, a good start is essential.

Tottenham host big-spending Manchester City, who will be looking for revenge after Spurs pipped them to the final Champions League spot in May. Sunderland face Birmingham on Wearside in a game that reunites Black Cats boss Steve Bruce with his former employers, while Wolves meet Stoke. Elsewhere, Aston Villa play West Ham, Blackburn take on Everton and Bolton meet Fulham. Show less
