Penelope K, by the way

Episode 9: Snails

Duration: 15 minutes

First broadcast: on CBeebiesLatest broadcast: on CBeebies

Penelope K runs the Information Station, a place which contains all the answers to any question a child might have. To help her find the answers, Penelope is joined by her sock puppet, Squirm; Hank and Frank, two wise cracking fish; Trewey, the shadow rabbit, and music is provided by the Rubber Band.

Penelope K has a slippery question on her hands. Where do snails get their shells from? Investigations leave her with a puzzling array of facts. Snails grow to different sizes. They eat all sorts of things like lettuce, paper, chalk and even rocks. Fingernails grow throughout people's lives and... well, something to do with babies. It takes some clever dot joining to realise all this means that snails grow their shells when they're babies and they continue growing throughout their lives. Show less
