Penelope K, by the way

Episode 8: Emu

Duration: 15 minutes

First broadcast: on CBeebiesLatest broadcast: on CBeebies

Penelope K runs the Information Station, a place which contains all the answers to any question a child might have. To help her find the answers, Penelope is joined by her sock puppet, Squirm; Hank and Frank, two wise cracking fish; Trewey, the shadow rabbit, and music is provided by the Rubber Band.

Why would emus need feathers if not one of them has ever flown? It's a puzzling and con-fuzzling question for Penelope K and Squirm. After discovering that fishes tails are for swimming and dog's tails are for wagging happily; that thermometers tell you how warm you are; that people's hair keeps them warm like animal's fur and that feathers make the warmest quilts Penelope K is none the wiser. Luckily the child is able to piece together the clues and concludes that emus' feathers are for keeping them warm. Show less
