It's the day of Andy's wedding to Gabriella, and Ruth is doing her best to convince everyone - and herself - that's she's okay with it. Andy puts her in a spin when he arrives and tells her he's having doubts about the wedding. He admits he doesn't love Gabriella enough because... well, she's just not Ruth. With her head spinning Ruth forces herself to do the right thing and counsels that if he's having doubts about marrying Gabriella then he has to talk to her about it. He can't make this about Ruth. Andy knows she's right. As Ruth sees him out, and they hug at the mouth of the close, they are spotted by Gabriella, who's having her hair done at the salon. Gabriella is nervous about Andy's close friendship with Ruth, more so since Mrs Carroll dropped some not-to-subtle hints about how much Andy wants kids. Gabriella tracks him down and senses that he's about to break up with her. She panics and reveals that she's pregnant. Shocked and confused, Andy is lost for words but he knows he has a responsibility. He assures his bride-to-be that he's thrilled about the news but we see from Andy's expression that he's not as happy as he should be.

Ruth waits anxiously in her flat for news from Andy, hopeful that he'll call the wedding off and come back for her. Gordon arrives and takes her by surprise by asking her to marry him. Ruth knows that regardless of what happens between her and Andy she needs to do the right thing by Gordon. She doesn't really love him so she turns him down and they break up.

Gina arrives at the church and calls Ruth to find out why she isn't there. Ruth is shocked to learn that the wedding is going ahead. Gutted, she asks her mum to do the reading for her because she can't make it. When Gina announces the arrival of the gorgeous bride it's too much for Ruth and she ends the call. Contemplating the carnage of the day, Ruth realises she can't let Andy go and rushes out of her flat on a mission.

At the church Gina begins the reading only to be interrupted by Ruth bursting through the doors. She asks a shocked Andy if she can talk to him and they head into a side room where Ruth pours her heart out, explaining how much she loves him and why she hurt him before. But Andy cuts her off... Gabriella's pregnant.

The curious guests are all stunned when Ruth suddenly bursts out of the side room and runs out of the church in tears. Gabriella demands an explanation so Andy takes her outside. As he tells her what happened she queries why Ruth thought it would be worthwhile coming to the church - she must have thought she had a chance. Andy falters and Gabriella steels herself to ask him the vital question - is he marrying her because he loves her or because she's pregnant?

Back at the flat a devastated and mortified Ruth is suffocated by the concern of friends and family so she heads out for a walk. Out on the street she is surprised to come face-to-face with Andy. He reveals that he and Gabriella didn't get married - she lied about the pregnancy. He asks Ruth if she'll still have him and they kiss.

Scarlett is struggling with the guilt of lying about the break-in at the pub. The police arrive to question her and she plays a convincing victim, hiding the truth about Theresa's involvement. The concern of her family and friends is too much for Scarlett, who is determined to go back to work and get on with her life. But she spares a minute for a concerned wee Bob who wishes he could get his hands on the scumbag that hit his mother. They share a loving hug on the street and go their separate ways but Theresa has witnessed the warm exchange and is determined to try and come between them.

She heads to the garage to ingratiate herself with her nephew and witnesses an argument between Bob and Deek over Deek taking his money out of the business. In an effort to get into Bob's good books Theresa follows Deek and threatens to hurt him if he doesn't apologise to Bob and reinvest in the business. An angry Deek tells Bob who is furious with Theresa. She's gutted to learn that her plan backfired and works hard to explain that she was just trying to help. Eventually, Bob softens but warns her not to try it again - it's not how he does business. Theresa agrees and suggests another way she could help. She'll invest in the garage herself. Bob is oblivious to the fact that the money she's using is dodgy and happily agrees to the new business partnership.

Meanwhile, Bob O'Hara is watching Scarlett closely and recognises behaviour from when Theresa used to bully Scarlett when they were kids. He figures out that Theresa is leaning on Scarlett and is somehow involved in the robbery at the Ship. Scarlett threatens to cut him out of her life if he breathes a word of it to anyone. Bob is troubled to see his favourite sister in such distress but is forced to agree to keep her secret. He makes her promise not to let Theresa win. Little do they know Theresa has just got her claws into Bob and his business. Show less
