When Phil asks Billy if Jay can look out for Ben, it’s the first Billy hears about a school trip. Billy has no luck when he asks Ian for an advance to pay for it, and when Ian catches Billy pocketing £30 from the stall, he’s about to sack him.

But Jane gives Billy a lifeline – he can borrow the money if he returns it tomorrow. Billy gives Jay the money for his school trip, but feels the strain when Heather asks him about rent. Under pressure, Billy finds his stash of drugs and heads to R&R, but sees people being frisked and loses his nerve. As an anxious Billy scuttles home he’s stopped by a police officer

When Ronnie visits Jack he lashes out, saying he’s not happy in hospital. Ronnie speaks to the doctor about private treatment, and later tells Jack she’s found the perfect clinic for him.
